“À chacun son envol”: paragliding as a space for well-being and confidence

Over two days in Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet, France, Sophie and Laurence had the opportunity to discover paragliding through “À chacun son envol”. The initiative brings together sport and time in nature to support women on their personal recovery journey after cancer.

The experience began on the ground, with an introduction to the equipment and the basic movements needed to control the wing. They progressed at their own pace, supported by professionals in free flight, health psychology and sport for well-being.

Then came the moment to take off. Accompanied by professional instructors, Sophie and Laurence enjoyed tandem flights over the landscape of Saint-Hilaire, discovering new sensations and sharing the emotion of being in the air.

Beyond the flights, the two days brought participants and professionals together to share experiences, build confidence and enjoy an outdoor activity.
 

Giving wings to a collective project

“À chacun son envol” forms part of the work of the French Free Flight Federation’s (FFVL) national Sport-Santé commission, with the involvement of the association “Des ailes pour tous” and the local clubs DUCK, CHVD and CSH, linked to “Inspir’ Grésivaudan”.

At Niviuk, we supported the project by providing equipment. We believe in the value of paragliding as an activity that can contribute to well-being and inclusion, and we are pleased to support those working to make it accessible to more people.
