My passion for free flight runs in the family: my father has been paragliding for over 20 years, and that's undoubtedly where my strong interest in this sport comes from. I had my first tandem flight at the tender age of 3, and I've always been taken to competitions and flying trips. Therefore, my dream and excitement have always been about flying.
I started flying at the age of 13, and since then, I've been setting new goals for myself every day. Later on, I entered the world of competition, starting with the Andalusian Regional League, and then moving on to National Leagues and Spanish Championships. So far, I've achieved numerous podiums finishes in regional and national competitions, in the Cross Country and Accuracy categories. My ultimate goal is to join the national team and participate in the
Paragliding World Cup circuit.
One paragliding experience that I will never forget involves a mistake that happened in Piedrahita during the Spanish Paragliding Championship in the Club and Tandem category. I was highly motivated to achieve the best possible result, and in the first task, the Start was scheduled for 2:30 PM; however, it was delayed and moved to 2:45 PM. I wasn't aware of the change because I usually listen to music to concentrate before takeoff. I launched with the incorrect Start time, and when I noticed that no one was heading to the next turnpoint, I continued waiting, albeit puzzled. I missed the Start by 2 minutes and stopped my timer, ending up as the first among the solo gliders and the third among tandems. When I landed, I found out what had happened, and I couldn't believe it. Sadness and frustration overwhelmed me, but the support of my family and friends encouraged me, and I continued flying throughout the championship. I eventually finished in 11th place and won the last task. The most important thing is that I learned from the mistake, and it has never happened again.
