In his long career, pilot Ramón Morillas Salmerón has managed to develop the potential of paragliding and paramotoring, taking it to ever higher levels. He has also contributed to positioning Spanish aerial sports at the highest international level.
Highlights of their achievements include:
- 4-times paramotoring world champion.
- Various paramotoring world records in altitude and distance.
Records he currently holds:
- World distance record from Jerez-Lanzarote, 1105 km over the Atlantic Ocean in 2007.
- World altitude record flying at 7821 m over the Masherbrum mountain in Pakistan's Karakorum in 2009.
- His career has been recognised with the Bronze Medal for Sporting Merit (CSD) and the Cross of Aeronautical Merit with White Distinction (Spanish Air Force).
- The World Air Sports Federation (FAI) has awarded him with the Anne Welch Diploma (2006, 2007, 2010) and the Paul Tissandier Diploma (2003).
Ramón Morillas has been an elite sports person since 1997.
He was part of the select group of athletes participating in the toughest competition in paragliding without an engine. The Red Bull X-Alps, which crosses the Alps from Salzburg to Monaco in a dizzying race of endurance and flying skills.
Added to this is his passion for aerial exploration, both in free flight and paramotor, Ramón Morillas is one of the most accomplished athletes on the international aeronautical scene.

I crossed the Atlantic on Christopher Columbus’ La Pinta caravel in 1992.

I play the guitar and I sing.
