What is your experience level?

The most important thing is that, whatever your level, your flying equipment gives you the maximum confidence to be able to fly without any worries. It must always assist with your learning or development, and must never be a hindrance. 

So, depending on your experience level, it is important that you choose the harness that best suits you and your needs. Don't make the mistake, for example, of getting a pod or lightweight protection harness when you have just start flying, as this will make it difficult for you to progress in gaining experience.  

For those who are just starting to fly or are in the progression phase, a harness without a pod will be more comfortable as this type of harness makes it easier to launch, there are fewer adjustments to make, the seating position is more natural and the legs are free and always in position for landing. 

A pod with/without fairing harness is a very good option for more experienced pilots, who want to make longer flights and who are looking to reduce drag and increase performance. 

What is your usual type of flying?

The answer to this question is decisive when choosing your harness. Depending on the type of activity you do, the harness you choose will have to meet different requirements.

Beginner or progression level

At this level you should prioritise safety, stability and comfort over all other features. It is important that your harness helps you gain the confidence and make your first flights safe.

Cross-country or competition

The Roamer P, its ultra-light version, is designed for the most extreme hike & fly adventurers. Weighing from 0.173 kg, it is so small it fits in your iPad case. 

The Arrow P and the Arrow P Race are great options for hike & fly enthusiasts looking for more performance. 
 

Tandem

If you are looking for harnesses to share your tandem flights, you should prioritise the passenger's needs: safety and comfort must be the two main considerations. The Watson has both these prerequisites and in addition transforms into a very easy-to-carry backpack for carrying the helmet and all the passenger's belongings. 

Acro

Prioritise safety to perform the craziest acro manoeuvres! In addition, it has to fit you like a glove, for greater control and manoeuvrability. 

What size should I choose?

It is very important to choose the size that best suits you, according to your body shape, height and weight. Niviuk manufactures different sizes of each model of harness so that you can choose the right one for you. 

Our recommendation is that before deciding on one size or another, you should try them. Niviuk organises and attends testivals throughout the year, where we put our harnesses at your disposal, so that you can try them out in person.
