Both my father and brother were early to take to the air with their paragliders, and my local club deep in the Hardangerfjord saw a major boost in activity at the time when I started up. Perfect timing and a very good start to my flying career. After some initial years exploring Acro (it was mostly exploring back then), free flying became my preferred discipline. Flying just for the experience and adventure. Setting my own tasks based on the day and completing them based on actual weather and opportunities.
Now my interests are leaning more and more towards the hike and fly and Vol Biv disciplines. Go to new places, trust my own decisions, and make the most of any available conditions. That's why I participated in the
X-Pyr 2022, although I didn't achieve the result I was looking for, I gained a lot of experience. It was quite an adventure; both the area and the weather were very challenging. With what I've learned and if my training continues as planned in the winter, I'll likely apply for another opportunity in
X-Pyr 2024 or sign up for any other long-distance and long-duration adventure race.
One of my favourite paragliding memories was the 180 km crossing of the central Pyrenees from NW to SE in one flight passing abeam Mt Aneto on the way. Two very different flights in one since the conditions on the French and Spanish side were quite different. Super nice scenery!
I also fondly remember the adventure of 16 days of Vol Biv In Norway together with Antoine Girard and Julien Dusserre. A laid back vol biv adventure from south to the north trying to make the best out of difficult terrain and weather. Days of hiking, flying, fishing, camping and bonfires. Great experience.
I'm very satisfied with my Niviuk equipment. I’ve been lucky to fly many brands and gear during my career, and Niviuk have always been front end with technologies and development. I really enjoy the Niviuk feel, performance and handling.
