Niviuk x Red Bull X-Alps 2025: Introducing the flying kit

The Niviuk gear is ready to take on a new edition of the greatest hike and fly challenge: the Red Bull X-Alps.

In this most extreme of adventures, our four pilots will fly with an ultra-lightweight kit specially developed for the competition, delivering peak performance in every stage of the race: the Klimber 3 P wing, the new Rocket P harness, and the Expe Race rucksack.

The entire setup weighs just 5 kg, as the result of all our experience and innovation in materials, lightness and durability, as applied across our P Series range.

KLIMBER 3 P: Born to Compete

The Klimber 3 P is the lightest high-performance wing ever created by Niviuk. A true revolution in our range of ultralight two-liners, it’s designed to deliver top-level performance in hike and fly competitions and distance flying.

Weighing just 2.85 kg, it’s agile and precise – ideal for tackling long mountain crossings and demanding conditions. With improved aerodynamics, an optimised profile, and excellent glide efficiency, it’s the perfect companion for those seeking the ideal balance between lightness, safety, and competition-grade performance. Its fast and intuitive inflation is key for alpine and technical take-offs.

Designed from the ground up using Niviuk’s most advanced technologies, the Klimber 3 P delivers a dynamic and responsive flying experience – made for pushing limits without sacrificing control. In the 2025 X-Alps, our pilots will rely on it to pass every turnpoint with maximum efficiency.

ROCKET P: Light as air. Aerodynamic like a rocket

Engineered for elite athletes competing in the Red Bull X-Alps, the Rocket P is the new and first Niviuk ultralight full-inflated pod harness, with an aerodynamic high-performance design. Its optimised shape minimizes drag, while ergonomic support ensures great comfort during long flights in extreme conditions.

Thanks to the innovative double keel structure, the Rocket P offers enhanced yaw stability, providing smoother, more controlled flight even in turbulent air at high speeds. Developed with direct input from top pilots, our engineers and designers have fine-tuned every detail to achieve the ideal combination performance, and lightness.

It is equipped with the Apair inflatable protector – an innovative technology that combines safety and lightness. Weighing just 240 grams and offering excellent impact absorption, this protection integrates seamlessly into the harness without compromising comfort. Thanks to its quick inflation, it provides an exceptional level of safety without costing our pilots precious minutes.

EXPE RACE: Equip yourself to win

A more extreme version of the Expe Race 50, this ultralight rucksack has been specially developed for the most demanding competition. Weighing just 440 grams, it’s built to meet the real needs of hike and fly, combining comfort, durability and functionality.

Its compartments are intuitive and strategically placed for quick access to gear during the race. With dedicated pockets, ergonomic adjustments and high-strength materials, it’s perfectly suited for intense days of flying and hiking.

As well as being extremely light and compact, the Expe Race fits the body like an extension of the pilot, allowing smooth movement across all types of terrain. Perfect for running without the pack shifting on your back. It’s the natural choice for those competing at the highest level – where every gram counts.

X-ALPS 2025: The Niviuk pilots

The Niviuk team is ready to take on the ultimate hike and fly challenge.

This year, we’re fielding a diverse group of talented pilots with strong potential: Tanguy Renaud-Goud (FRA4) and Celine Lorenz (GER2) return for a second consecutive edition, bringing valuable experience and renewed determination to the X-Alps; while Jean de Biolley (BEL2) and Jared Scheid (USA) join the race as rookies, both having made a strong impression at the X-Pyr 2024.

Each pilot brings their own style and approach, but they all share the same goal: to fly as much as possible and walk as little as necessary, pushing their limits in one of the toughest and most iconic challenges in free flight.
