This year, Niviuk will be represented by an exceptional team at the Red Bull X-Alps: veteran athletes Tanguy Renaud-Goud and Celine Lorenz—both returning for their second consecutive edition—and rookies Jean de Biolley and Jared Scheid, who each made their debut at the 2024 X-Pyr. Celine returns to the X-Alps with unfinished business. In her 2023 debut, a pre-race ankle injury during the Pre-Week forced her to withdraw. But far from giving up, she transformed the setback into extra motivation. Now she returns stronger, more experienced, and more determined to finish what she started.
She is the only woman selected for this edition, and that’s no coincidence: Celine is the current German paragliding champion (2024), and in 2022, she made history as the first woman to reach the finish line of the Dolomiti Super Fly. Her track record speaks for itself: she combines physical endurance, a calm and focused mindset, and an exceptional ability to read both terrain and air.
A complete and tenacious pilot, Celine tackles each day with discipline and composure. For her, flying is not just about competition, it’s about connecting with the landscape and with herself. Her goal in the race? To enjoy it and push herself to the limit. She wants to give it all.
Tanguy is pure energy. His body is a machine built to endure and keep going without rest—but it’s his mindset that makes him unstoppable. He has broken the hike and fly 24-hour world record twice, and since 2024, he holds the current title after climbing an incredible 17,534 metres of elevation gain in a single day. This young French talent has proven that he not only masters the art of flying, but also of constantly pushing his own limits.
With a strong background as a high-performance athlete, Tanguy has managed to channel his extraordinary physical endurance into technical, precise flying, placing 9th in the last PWC Superfinal. He’s not afraid of flying high: every kilometre is a victory, and every thermal, an ally.
His experience in the 2023 X-Alps, where he ranked among the top rookies and secured 10th place overall, has given him a more strategic perspective on the race, without losing the passion of day one.
Jean is an athlete who doesn’t need to make noise to stand out. A Belgian with a deep passion for the mountains and the outdoors, he combines admirable physical endurance with strong focus and a calm mindset. One of his greatest strengths is his ability to run long distances at a steady, efficient pace: he’s a true roadrunner.
In 2024, he confirmed his talent with a solid 6th place finish in his first participation at the X-Pyr, one of the most demanding and technical hike and fly races. He’s definitely a rookie to keep a close eye on in this edition of the X-Alps.
Jean prefers to fly solo rather than in gaggle, trusting his own instincts and choosing routes that allow him to stay deeply connected to the environment. More than chasing victory at all costs, he seeks to live the experience to the fullest and learn from the best while competing on equal ground. Step by step, thermal by thermal.
Jared makes his X-Alps debut as one of the most promising new pilots. Based in California and increasingly present on the European competition scene, he’s proven he’s ready for the major challenges of hike and fly. His rise has been fast but well-earned, thanks to meticulous preparation, physical strength, and a mindset focused on performance.
He’s the current winner of the XRedRocks and also holds the paragliding distance record in Colorado, with a 344 km flight. This speaks to both his technical ability and mental resilience, two key qualities for tackling the X-Alps.
His flying style is efficient and geared towards making the most of every opportunity. His rule? Always have a plan B in case plan A fails. Jared joins the Niviuk team with determination and deep respect for the mountains. In his first X-Alps, he’s ready to go head-to-head with the sport’s biggest names and make his mark in the world’s toughest hike and fly race.
