BIOGRAPHY

I started flying in 2006 when I was 14 years old, following in my father's footsteps. Since then, I have been mainly involved in cross-country flying and international competitions, with a strong preference for high altitude flying. I joined the Belgian national team on the eve of the 2018 European Championships. I have made several local podiums and have been in the top 10 of different championships, but I would like to highlight my first position in the Belgian Ardenne Open 2021 where I competed with my Icepeak X-One.

I have also recently become a professional helicopter pilot and I am constantly improving my skills in different aerial disciplines; always willing to share my passion for flying with everyone around me. I never miss an opportunity to do a little acro run or to take my friends and family on a tandem flight.

I have many stories to tell about all these years as a paraglider pilot: great times, great flights, sharing experiences with other pilots and meeting lots of people from all over the world. Now that I am taking my first steps as a member of Team X1X, a new chapter in my adventure begins and I am sure it will be very interesting.

Curiosities

A day to remember

For me, the perfect day starts with a helicopter flight in the morning, paragliding and walking with friends in the Ardennes, and arriving in time to have a barbecue for dinner with my family... Those days are priceless and make you love life.

Unique experiences

Once, a few of us did a cross-country flight from the north of France and we flew almost 200 km south. When we landed, after almost 8 hours of flying in rather difficult conditions, we realised that none of us had organised a retrieve. It was Sunday evening at 7pm, we were far from home and all of us had to be at work in Belgium the next day. Getting back was a total adventure!

Towing in Finland

In 2016, while on the Erasmus programme in Finland, I started the cross-country season there and took off for the first time using a winch. I have unforgettable memories of flying through snowstorms and over the snowy landscapes.

Flying, flying and more flying

A few years ago I passed my professional helicopter pilot's licence with the intention of making the cockpit my daily office. In fact, paragliding helped me with my training, giving me a very good feeling for the air.
